VI Moscow International Vladimir Krainev Piano Competition

Small Category
Video Selection round (not longer than 15 minutes)
1. A polyphonic piece by J.S. Bach;
2. Etude by the participant's choice;
3. Free program.
Preliminary Auditions (not longer than 20 minutes)
1. The first movement of a classical Sonata by the participant's choice (Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven);
2. Etude or another virtuoso piece;
3. Free program.
The Competition Auditions 
Recital round (not longer than 25 minutes)
Free program which must include at least one piece of a Russian composer.
The participant cannot perform the pieces presented in the previous rounds (with an exception of the classical Sonata).
Final round
A complete Piano Concert by the participant’s choice (will be performed with an orchestra).

Middle Category
Video Selection round (not longer than 20 minutes)
1. A polyphonic piece by J.S. Bach;
2. A virtuoso Etude by the participant's choice;
3. Free program.
Preliminary Auditions (not longer than 25 minutes)
1. A classical Sonata by the participant's choice. It is allowed to perform either the entire Sonata or the first movement only. 
2. F. Chopin's virtuoso Etude;
3. Free program.
The Competition Auditions 
Recital round (not longer than 35 minutes)
1. Free program which must include at least one piece of a Russian composer. The participant cannot perform the pieces presented in the previous rounds (with an exception of the classical Sonata).
2. A contemporary composer piece by the participant's choice from the list published on the Competition website. The list will be available not later than January 15, 2025.
Final round
A complete Piano Concert by the participant’s choice (will be performed with an orchestra).

Senior Category
Video Selection round (not longer than 20 minutes)
1. A polyphonic piece by J.S. Bach;
2. S. Rachmaninov's Etude-Tableau by the participant's choice;
3. Free program.
Preliminary Auditions (not longer than 30 minutes)
1. A classical Sonata by the participant's choice. It is allowed to perform either the entire Sonata or the first movement only.
2. F. Chopin or F. Liszt's virtuoso Etude;
3. Free program.
In the Preliminary Auditions it is not allowed to repeat the pieces presented in the Video Selection round.
The Competition Auditions
Recital round (not longer than 45 minutes)
1. Free program which must include at least one piece of a Russian composer. The participant cannot perform the pieces presented in the previous rounds (with an exception of the classical Sonata).
2. A contemporary composer piece by the participant's choice from the list published on the Competition website. The list will be available not later than January 15, 2025. 
Final round
A complete Piano Concert by the participant’s choice (will be performed with an orchestra).
